AWP Chicago

Anybody going to this thing? I'd like to met some heads, and I'd love to save a few bucks and crash on a couch somewhere...

hit Facebook. That's all they are talking about over there. What's it all about anyway?

It's an annual book fair that draws in a large small press contingent. It also features three days of conference-type material. I've never been, but have been told enough times that I should go. I feel like there's a stronger-than-usual literary community in Chicago, and I've been meaning to get back there for years. Middle of February is a stupid time to do it.

Follow the link above for more information.

It's pretty cute that you went to all this trouble because you're too shy to just email me and ask me personally.

My couch is yours, if you need it. I live about a 45 minute train ride away from the actual conference goings-on. Feel free to keep your options open for a while.

The personal emails are scheduled to start sometime this weekend.

What time do bars close in Chicago and how late does the train run?

Most bars close at 2. Some 4. The train runs all night.
