This is actually a big moment for me, and I don't really know how he found my name but I think it's because we're both from Boston, athough maybe it was because he heard me talking trash about how I'm scared of big dogs since that pit bull bit my hand. But, you know, I've been a big fan of his since Widow's Walk, so it's nice to get an email from Robert B. Parker, the author of the Spenser detective novels. I really hope this isn't a prank, but his email address is Rparkernovelist@aol.com, so it's probably legit:
You've got your nerve, refusing simultaneous submissions and not paying. May you fail soon.

Did you write him back?
that was his comment? that's gay. and he has "novelist" in his email address, also gay. And aol? nice.
seems odd that a professional writer would take the time to pause, become angry that he cannot submit a piece more than once, and then get more upset because he will not be paid for his trouble. and then write about it.
funny as hell.
I agree with crackers. "novelist" in his email address? I have a better suggestion:
pretentiousdouche@outoftouch.com
He is right about one thing, you do have your nerve
Renaissance just can't wait to use the word "douche" as if he just invented it...I will say there's not a more overused insult on the net than "douche" and its derivatives...did you just get a tattoo on your arm too, Renaissance?
Why the hell would Robert Parker be bothering with Thieves Jargon? Just because it's in Boston? Maybe one of the Red Sox will write you next?
Haha.
I told you Mathereffer was some kind of evil genius. I did just get a tattoo on my arm. Spooky.
I don't think "douche" is overused at all. I think Mathereffer just hears it more than most.
The only pro novelist I ever correspond with is Christa Faust. She's what proves that women don't get fully sexy until they hit 40. Have you seen her legs? Fucking AMAZING! I would die just to have one night with her in bed.
Her novel "The Money Shot" is great too, Hard Case Crime is the only big house putting out good books these days.
Actually they just put out a Spenser by Parker.
Who cares about that with Parker, the only good thing to come from his work was Robert Urich playing Spenser on TV. What a handsome guy. Seriously.
Robert Parker has more talent in his done-during-weekends, took-me-a-month-to-write-it new Spenser novels than the sum of us will display in our entire lives.
He is quite literally the shit.
Didja write him back, Matt?
Matt Digangi doesn't answer questions without an appointment, dm.
well then ... that explains it! ;)
