Thieves Jargon 202

Contrary to popular opinion, Thieves Jargon still lives. Dan Scannell and Joe Goosey have done a good job of pulling together another installment. I'm particularly fond of Anelise Chen's Life is So Many Olympic Exertions #2, KJ Hays' Birdfeeder, and Gretel My's Various Value-Added Products, Various By-Products, which has a Delphine-Lecompte like feeling to it.

Speaking of Delphine Lecompte, I was excited to sell a dozen copies of Kittens in the Boiler to Brown University, where the book will be taught to undergrads this fall. Thieves Jargon has gone Ivy League.

Still more Delphine, as she's resurfaced in a brief interview at The Damned Human Race:
Part 1
Part 2

Speaking of The Damned Human Race, they also have a three part series outlining the development of the cover for Kittens in the Boiler, as well as the cover artist's Belgian meeting with the author in question:
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

Speaking of Thieves Jargon Press, Mike Boyle has a new story published at Red Fez, an excerpt from his Dollhouse sequel.

Speaking of Red Fez, I said goddamn, there are a lot of Jargon alumni in their fall issue... Brent Poweres, Luis Rivas, Karl Koweski, Josh Olsen, Steve Wheeler. Might be worth checking out as you wait for 203.

Thanks for the shouts - to be in the same post as both Lecompte and McEnroe is an honor. Jimmy Connors can suck it.

This was a good update.

It's weird that there's this whole Thieves Jargon comeback going on cuz I've been working on a post for my blog called "Born of Man And Beard" that is a semi-fictional history of Matt DiGangi, his beard, and Thieves Jargon but mainly about how I am the best writer ever and Thieves Jargon has my stories in it.

Good news re. TJ. I am off to read the Delphine interview. My copy of Kittens is missing, I may have to actually buy one. Cheers.

My copy was destroyed when my old apartment flooded along with many other books. I didn't know Delphine still wrote or that she won some Mexican award. Good for her.

not my favorite cover art. red fez? terrible web design. looks childish. they should hire someone to spruce it up. regardless of the quality of their writing, it's gonna come off juvenile that layout.

Nice job DeLong

Stuff Cats Like has gotten a professional redesign and it looks awesome. We are always looking for horror or sicko cat related articles. It's only ten bucks a pop but none of these other cuntrag sites pay except in "exposure" anyway. Also have a review of Mather's poetry book coming up in the next few days. So check it out after 9pm tonight.

I have trouble believing you're a real person, Detector. You're so weird. I just don't understand what you do and whether or not it's a joke. So odd. But, keep on doing your thing.

At least Red Fez has ads that are relevant. What's this crap on the front page at Thieves' Jargon all about?

Also, they use tags on their stories, which feels a little next-gen to me, even if their layout is wack.

I don't like Red Fez's guidelines. I got this thing about snotty guidelines.
