Hey Mather,
Against my best advice, Andy Riverbed wants you to evaluate and comment on his upcoming manuscript and provide an honest quote for the back cover. Is that something you'd be interested in?

I'll do it but I need a handjob and only from a male. Preferably a boy under 8.
i need your address.
Riverbed, you beautiful reckless bastard. You may be an evil genius.
Se parece broma, pero voy a jugar tu juego. No tienes mi direccione, DiGangi?
Why would I?
I thought you could access it through my comments, since I have to list it in order to write something...I don't know how it all works...Anyway I know I listed my physical address somewhere on your messageboard. I emailed Riverbed, so if he wants to talk to me about something he can email me, "against your best advice"...ha ha...
By the way, Madore is saying on his site that you are going out of business...is this true?
Not entirely true.
Thanks for clearing that up...
I just got the update that DecomP has another issue out, and as he predicted Steve Young has a poem there.
I thought it was a good, emotional poem with little pretentiousness, a poem that needed to come out rather than a poem that was written because the person thinks of himself as a "poet". I detected no attempts to fool me or impress me with cleverness. No riddles, no word games, no alliteration for the fuck of it, no whores, syringes, no apples or onions, no thesaurus alchemy. No attempts to instill any great mystery or meaning into life except to acknowledge the only real mystery and meaning there is: emotion. It is not a great poem but it is a good one. Whether the poem is true or not does not matter to me.
Take that, Renaissance.
this song is dope

no it's not. it's lame. and this site is sort of getting that way.
i liked the young poem.
Mother's gone soft....
that is so annoying Crackers. You know that Cage song is fucking awesome. To say it isn't is simply dishonest.
I googled Dan Scannell and couldn't find much, not even on your author's list. Who is he, a frat brother?
Describing that abortion as a "song" is being generous, jtk.
ok. i hope they serve beer in hell is an awesome book. who's read that? it's hilarious. If he has any lasting power it'll be a happier version of bukowski. but i doubt he will have any lasting power.
damn it that song is awesome
i hope they serve beer in hell is very mediocre, and very un-literary. no characters change or grow or anything. but i suppose it's non-fiction. he'll be a good maxim writer and that's it. it gets old about half-way through. the the last few stories are interesting b/c they are more about people instead of how awesome and drunk he is.
In a marketing class I took, I suggested an author getting arrested just when a new book came out would help boost sales. The teacher gave me back my assignment and called it a joke and told me that I would need to show her three examples to get credit. I found three of them that were in the NYT best-seller list: Tucker Max was one of them, along with Slash and somebody else.
apparently he has a movie coming out also. he has this blog, tuckermax.com, which apparently made him famous before he collected all his shorts in 'i hope they serve...'
he has some youtube clips. watched one where he waxed about reading at OSU and having a hundred protesters, and him realizing that, in that instant, he was no longer a cult identity and a full-fledged celeb.
he has a new book coming out, i'm interested in if he has anything new to say, or if it's rehashing the same drunk hook up again and again.
